Future of Enterprise 2.0

Everyone is buzzing how they can use web2.0 technologies and tools in their business to enhance the profitability of the organisation. The question is will it really help the future of a business or will it just be a waste of a time and resources of an organization. According to my opinion it really depends on the way the organisation use the tool and the support it gets from the employees and the management. Of-cause this needs the support of a proper change management process within the organisation because most employees are not very familiar with the  technical tools and they have  less background in IT knowledge. There are many research programs out there to see what the influence will be of web2.0 for the future of the organisations.

According to Forrester research they predict the social networking tools and the internal wikis will make a greatest impact on workplace collaboration and this will result in spending $4.6 billion by the year 2013. And also they have discovered mashups will also be coming to the enterprise in a near future and it will also make a significant difference in the environment with $700 million market by 2013..

Web 2.0 tools in future

Web 2.0 tools in future

As the market for the web2.0 tools get expanded the vendors are getting the interest to use web2.0 in their products and services. As an example Microsoft and IBM are on the track of this emerging market environment. As an example Microsoft’s SharePoint includes wikis, blogs, and RSS technologies in their collaboration suite. And IBM offers social networking and mashup tools via their Lotus Connections and Lotus Mashups products and also the SAP Business Suite includes social networking and widgets. The following diagram shows annual sales of each web2.0 tools and technologies in future and it is believed that web2.0 will become a feature not a product.

According to the above diagram it is predicted web2.0 tools and technologies will reach $4.6 billion in 2013 (I am surprised and I think it is a big amount). More details can be found HERE.

These are the things I found about the future of Enterprise 2.0 and I would like to get to know more new things if there are….
